X-Lite is a free software phone developed by Counterpath. Paid versions of X-Lite are also available with additional features including support for smartphone and tablet editions of the applications. To download the applications you may visit their site here:

Setup

  • Download and install X-Lite, eyeBeam or Bria
  • Launch the application and click Softphone > Account Settings


  • To register the phone several settings will need to be configured
  • This information can be obtained from the MyTelepath Online portal or by contacting MyTelepath Support
  • In the 'Account' tab the following items must be configured
  1. Account Name - A label for the new account (may be anything)
  2. User ID - The name of the device the phone will register to (usually an extension with a letter indicator)
  3. Domain - The domain as configured on the MyTelepath system (usually a form of the company name)
  4. Password - The PIN of the device to be registered (this is unique to each device and different than the voice mail PIN)
  5. Display name - A nickname for the account (may be anything)
  6. Authorization name - This will match the User ID (used for authorization when connecting to MyTelepath)
  7. Domain Proxy - Must be set to Proxy with an address of: sipbx.mytelepath.com

  • In the 'Voicemail' tab enable the option to 'Check for voicemail'
  • Number to dial for checking voicemail: 5001


  • In the 'Topology' tab select the option for 'None (use local IP address)'



  • Click the 'OK' button and the phone should register to the MyTelepath system
  • The phone is now ready to place calls.
